Maintain an intellectually challenging and stimulating curriculum
Objectives are, accordingly, to ensure that students acquire:
Understanding of the ways in which practical and academic work in drama and theatre arts necessarily inform one another
Knowledge of the dramatic medium in its various aspects, including: elements of performance concepts of convention and innovation, and drama theatre form.
Knowledge of the basic languages(s) of theatre practice, through participation in practical work supervised by staff members and/or members of the professional theatre community
Appreciation of the theatrical output of different periods and places
Basic theatre crafts, including lighting, sound, costume and stage management
A range of transferable skills, which will enable them to work effectively both individually and in groups, in students' professional careers.
